Hiking

Hello.

I would like to visit a town in Alsace early this coming October and would like to stay in one location for 5 or so days where I can take day hikes right from the town. If need be, I would prefer to use local transportation rather than use a car.

What town would you suggest has hiking trails very nearby? Would this be Colmar? Or what suggestions do you have?

A great source for hiking in Alsace

Hi Carol,

There are a lot of hiking ideas for Alsace in my guide book for Northern Alsace. It includes Strasbourg of course if you're interested, great for museums and just exploring too.

But most of the towns and villages in the book are accessible by train and there are many hikes from most of them.

Lots of castles on many of these hikes too.
