Knepfle Alsatian Pasta at the Grocery Store
When you come to Alsace, there is one dish that will be hard to avoid...
It's knepfle (pronounced kuh nep flee).
Alsace's version of handmade pasta!
It is offered as a side dish choice for almost everything and you can buy it in the supermarket in Alsace and cook it up in just a few minutes.
If you are traveling with kids, buy some! They will most likely love it. I have yet to meet someone who didn't.
And it's easy to cook...
You just need a frying pan and some butter and maybe 10 minutes at the most.
Oh and a nice sauce to go with it...mmmmm...
We'll have to discuss sauces in the French grocery store too...later...
PS This is fresh pasta and you will find it in the refrigerated section of the grocery store only. There is dried Alsatian pasta but as you would imagine, it isn't quite as good as the fresh pasta!
