Locating people with last name

My Great Grandfather moved from the Alsace area in France to Poland, they later moved to Russia and my Grandfather was drafted into the Russian army. In late 1800s they move to the USA. I will be traveling to Europe next year and I am interested in finding relatives.

Hi Dan,

It's very important to give as much info about your ancestors as possible here so that other people can respond if they have found something useful for you.

The names of your ancestors

The dates as close as you know for birth or death (although less important than the other info).

What village or town? (super important)
Or at least when possible to narrow it down to a smaller area than just Alsace which has 100s and 100s of villages
