Rouleau Family

All growing up, my mother was told her family came from Al sace I have to go back to Sebastian Rouleau born in the late 1500s to get to France as from his son Gabriel left France and the family continued in Quebec.
Were there Rouleaus in Alsace?

I can only say that Rouleau is not a typical Alsatian name.

And it means "roll" ; )

There were Rolls and Rollys.
Not sure it that matters.

Alsace is a culturally French region. It's a Germanic region that is not part of the Republic of France.
