seeking info for family tree

My Father Jack R Koons great grandfather is Henry Koons born Jan 29, 1826 Alsac -Lorrain France. Moved to penn. then Ft Wayne, Indiana. I cant find any documentation that would link Henry to Hans Georg Kuntz born 5-5-1796, Alsac France. Henry's Obit says he came to the US with his parents when he was 3-5 yrs old. How do I go about getting information. I find no entry point.
