Strasbourg Ancestor

I am trying to find the name, birthdate, date of death and hopefully, cause of death of my Great-great grandfather.

I have my great-grandfather's name: Ernest Christian Kabler: born in Enterprise, Ohio on October 15, 1867. All I know is his father was born in Strasbourg, France.

Wow not easy

Hi Donna,

Is there any chance that the father's name is on the birth certificate of his child? I know it's a stupid question, but it's incredibly hard to find someone when you don't even know their name.

Strasbourg is a big city and there are likely to be quite a few Kablers there.

Having the name of the town is already really great. Most people have everything but that. And if you had any more info like a name, I could probably find it.

Even initials would be helpful if there aren't too many Kablers.

Johann (Jean) George Buerkel was born in Strausbourg 1700. His son, Joachim (Percle) Buerkel born in Strausbourg 1727 immigrated to the US on LeCameleon. I think landed on the German coast of LA.
